Objective To evaluate the effect of Naosu Granules on the treatment of acute brain injury. Methods Eighty patients with acute brain injury were treated from April 2000 to April 2002. They were randomly divided into the control group （38 cases） treated with western medicines

and the treatment group （42 cases） treated with Naosu Granules integrated with Western medicines. The relieve periods of symptoms

such as headache

swirling

vomiting

nausea and star time of feces discharge were observed. Result In the treatment group the relieve periods of headache and swirling were shortened distinctly. The relieve periods of vomiting and nausea were obvious shorter than that in the control group （P<0.01）

so was the star time of bowel movement （P<0.01）. Conclusion It indicates that Naosu Granules has a better therapeutic effect on acute brain injury.
