Advances in the effects of intestinal flora imbalance on ischemic stroke and in traditional Chinese medicine management
the signaling pathway from the intestine to the brain has attracted much attention as a non-negligible influencing factor in ischemic stroke. Intestinal flora is involved in the generation of high-risk pathogenic factors in ischemic stroke. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the brain and intestines are closely connected physiologically through the meridians
and functionally they nourish and regulate each other; pathologically
encephalopathy may affect the intestines
and intestinal diseases may affect the brain
and the two influence each other. Based on this understanding
the regulation of intestinal flora stabilization can be used as an entry point to study the treatment of ischemic stroke. At present
the treatment methods of traditional Chinese medicine including the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine
the monomer of traditional Chinese medicine
the compounds of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture are adopted. Some progress has been made in regulating the intestinal flora to improve the occurrence
development and prognosis of ischemic stroke. This article reviews the prevention and treatment of ischemic stroke based on intestinal flora in traditional Chinese medicine.
