Exploration of insomnia of the liver constraint and spleen deficiency pattern from the perspective of gut microbiota-intestine-brain axis
there has been growing interest in research on "gut microbiota-intestine-brain" axis in modern medicine. Many studies found that gastrointestinal microbiota regulation is beneficial for the treatment of brain-related diseases. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)
the brain and gastrointestinal system are connected through meridians
and they are closely related both physiologically and pathologically. In the current society
the liver constraint and spleen deficiency pattern has become one of the dominant types of insomnia. Research has found that the liver and spleen in TCM terms are closely related to the nervous
endocrine and immune systems in modern biology
which correspond to the "gut microbiota-intestine-brain" axis and its three pathways. Based on TCM theory and the theory of "gut microbiota-intestine-brain" axis
we proposed that insomnia caused by liver constraint and spleen deficiency is closely related to the "gut microbiota-intestine-brain" axis
the dysfunction of which might be its potential biological mechanism.
