Discussion on Jia Yingjie’s experience in the treatment of colorectal cancer based on the theory of "banking up the middle jiao and dethroning the lower jiao"
Colorectal cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the digestive tract
with high incidence and mortality rate in China
and the trend of colorectal cancer becoming more prevalent among younger individuals is increasingly evident. Professor Jia Yingjie
laureate of the title "National Prestigious TCM Doctor"
put forward based on decades of clinical experience and existing theories a new idea on the pathogenesis of "cancer turbidity"
and created a new rule of "dethroning turbidity and banking up the foundation" to treat cancer. He believed that when cancer occurs
turbidity should be the primary cause
which is yin in nature and therefore tends to descend
leading to the fact that patterns involving the middle and lower
jiao
are most common. Dampness turbidity pouring downwards and the result ant accumulation of toxin and blood stasis are key to the disease. The treatment should follow the principle of "banking up the middle
jiao
and dethroning the lower
jiao
"
adhere to banking up the foundation
reinforce healthy qi by fortifying the spleen
regulating qi
and activating the middle
jiao
. Turbidity should be dethroned in multiple ways
so as to eliminate evil. Modified versions of ancient prescriptions can used and the treatment should be adjusted flexibly. This has been proved to be effective in clinical practice. Differentiation of diseases and syndromes complement each other
so do syndrome differentiation based on
zang

fu
organs and the three
jiao
. Under the guidance of holistic treatment and careful selection of herbs
desirable clinical result have been achieved
which is demonstrated in this article
evidenced by one case record.
