摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the effect of Baduanjin (the first three postures) on shoulder function and quality of life in patients after breast cancer surgeries.MethodsA total of 60 patients who went through breast cancer surgeries and were admitted to the oncology outpatient ward of the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the subjects. They were randomly divided into 2 groups, with 30 in each. Breast cancer nursing routine was adopted for them, and they are required to take the Exercise for Patients with Late-Stage Breast Cancer of Beijing Breast Disease Society. The patients in the treatment group were asked to take additional Baduanjin exercises (the first three postures). The shoulder function (Neer score) and quality of life (QLSBC) of the two groups were compared after exercise.ResultsThe Neer scores of both groups of patients after exercise were higher than before exercise (P<0.05), and the scores of the treatment group were higher than those of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05); the quality of life scores of the treatment group after exercise were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).ConclusionBaduanjin (the first three postures) may effectively improve the shoulder function and quality of life of patients after breast cancer surgeries.

摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the expression difference of inflammatory factors in cord blood of infants with eczema of different TCM constitution types, so as to provide a basis for objectifying TCM constitution differentiation of children with eczema.MethodsHealthy full-term newborns born at the Air Force Medical Center, PLA, from October 2020 to October 2021 were selected as subjects. Their cord blood was collected at birth, and TCM constitution identification was conducted on them within 24 - 72 hours after birth. At 42 days of follow-up, the infants were divided into the normal group and the eczema group according to the incidence of eczema, and their EASI scores of eczema were recorded. Further detection of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-25, IL-31 and IL-33 levels in the cord blood was conducted by ELISA kit.Results45 children were recruited in the normal group and 45 in the eczema group were collected, including the balanced constitution (n=15), yin excessiveness constitution (n=15) and yang excessiveness constitution (n=15). The levels of IL-1β, IL-6, IL-31, IL-33 and TNF-α in cord blood in the eczema group were higher than those in normal group, while the level of IL-25 in cord blood in eczema group was lower than that in normal group. Further subgroup analysis of the eczema group showed that the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in cord blood in those with the yin excessiveness constitution were lower than those of children with the balanced constitution, while the levels of IL-31 and TNF-α were higher than that of gentleness group. The cord blood of IL-31 and TNF-α in the yang excessiveness constitution were higher than that of the balanced constitution, while the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in cord blood were higher than that of yin excessiveness constitution. Spearman correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between TCM constitution score and IL-1β (r=0.272, P=0.009), IL-6 (r=0.271, P=0.010).ConclusionThe TCM constitutions of children with eczema are related to their levels inflammatory factors, which may be the basis for the objectification of newborn constitution identification.

摘要:ObjectiveTo analyze and summarize the prescriptions and mechanism of Dr. Xu Xin in the treatment of hypoovarianism, and make further analysis of clinical efficacy.Methods42 cases of hypoovarianism treated by Dr. Xu Xin were selected. According to the severity, the FSH value in the follicular phase was measured by the female hormone on the second day of menstruation. The cases were divided into two groups: 21 cases in the decreased ovarian reserve (DOR) group and 21 in the premature ovarian insufficiency and ovarian failure (POI/POF) group. The patient was treated with traditional Chinese medicine decoctions only, one dose per day, 200 ml, divided into two portions, to be consumed within one day. In addition, no drug was taken during the menstrual period. The pregnancy and childbirth, menstrual status, basal body temperature (BBT), female hormone, ovarian volume, and time onset of action of the two groups were observed, and then the prescriptions and mechanism of Dr. Xu Xin’s treatment were analyzed.ResultsAfter the treatment, 10 patients in DOR group were pregnant and gave birth successfully; in the POI/POF group, 4 were pregnant, of which 3 gave birth successfully, and 1 terminated her pregnancy due to personal reasons. The menstruation of the patients in DOR group returned to normal; in POI/POF group, 12 cases (57.14%) had normal menstruation. BBT in DOR group showed biphasic changes; in the POI/POF group, 15 patients (75%) showed biphasic changes in BBT. The levels of FSH and LH in the two groups decreased significantly; E2 increased to a certain extent. The increase of E2 in the POI/POF group was statistically significant. After the treatment, the ovarian volume of patients can be increased to a certain extent. The right ovaries of patients in POI/POF group had shrunk most significantly before treatment, and increased in volume most significantly after the treatment, and the statistical data suggested that it was statistically significant.ConclusionDr. Xu Xin’s gynecological treatment of hypoovarianism is helpful for pregnancy and childbirth, and for restoring the regularity of menstruation. Recovery was also evident in the patients’ basic body temperature and female hormone. By tonifying the kidney, removing turbidity, and restoring the free movement of qi and blood, the herbs can improve the menstrual status of the patients, restore ovarian function, promote ovulation, improve pregnancy rate and live birth rate, and may improve the serological and ovarian morphological indicators, by reducing the level of FSH and LH, and increasing the level of E2, increase the size of the shrunken ovaries.

摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the correlation between the echocardiographic result of COVID-19-related myocardial injury and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndromes differentiation.MethodsRetrospective analysis was performed of 894 patients with COVID-19 infection and cardiac-related symptoms, admitted to the three affiliated hospitals of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine from December 10, 2022 to January 20, 2023. According to the diagnostic criteria for myocardial injury associated with COVID-19 recommended by clinical management experts, the relationship between echocardiographic result and TCM syndrome was explored with both single-factor analysis and multiple-factor logistic regression analysis.ResultsUnivariate analysis showed that central distribution of effusion, ventricular wall thickness, ventricular wall motion, left ventricular systolic function, left ventricular diastolic function, left ventricular size, and right ventricular size were all associated with myocardial injury (P<0.05). Multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that age, central pericardial effusion and left ventricular diastolic function, were related to myocardial injury (P<0.05). Comparison of regression coefficients or odds ratios reveals that the impact on determining myocardial injury decreases in the following order: pericardial effusion > left ventricular diastolic function > age. 345 patients with myocardial injury were classified by TCM syndromes: 94 cases of heat toxin invading the heart, 114 cases of binding of phlegm-heat and blood stasis, and 137 cases of both qi and yin deficiency. The echocardiographic result of the three TCM syndromes were compared, and the differences in the presence of pericardial effusion and left ventricular size were statistically significant (P<0.05).ConclusionPericardial effusion, left ventricular diastolic function, and age are independent influencing factors for determining COVID-19-related myocardial injury, among which pericardial effusion is the most influential and has the greatest contribution to determining myocardial injury. In patients who have myocardial injuries, there is a certain correlation between TCM syndrome and echocardiography, which can provide a certain reference basis for subsequent treatment.

摘要:ObjectiveBy studying Bushen Huoxue Huazhuo Formula (补肾活血化浊, literally meaning Kidney-Tonifying, Blood-Activating and Turbidity-Resolving Formula, BSHXHZF), an original TCM prescription, administered in combination with anti-copper treatment, we further explored the improvement of dystonia in patients with Wilson’s disease and the TCM pattern of deficiency of liver and kidney, binding of phlegm and stasis.Methods60 patients with Wilson’s disease and dystonia of the pattern of deficiency of liver and kidney and binding of phlegm and stasis were randomly divided into the control group, the BSHXHZF group, the DMPS group, and the BSHXHZF + DMPS group, with 15 in each. The control group was given a placebo, and the other groups were given the corresponding medications, and the UWDRS scores of the patients before and after the treatment period of 4 weeks were compared. The UWDRS score III (neurological function), Ashworth scale score, BFM score and TCM syndrome score were compared before and after the treatment, and the efficacy of the four groups was evaluated by using SPSS 23.0 for statistical analysis.ResultsUwdrs score III (neurological function), Ashworth scale score, BFM score and TCM syndrome score were compared among the patients in each group before treatment, and the differences were not statistically significant (P > 0.05), and there was no significant difference between the changes in the scores of the control group before and after treatment (P > 0.05), and there was no significant difference between the scores of the BSHXHZF group the DMPS group, and the BSHXHZF + DMPS group before and after treatment. The scores of these three groups decreased after treatment (P < 0.05), among which the scores of the BSHXHZF + DMPS group decreased even more significantly, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01).ConclusionThe combined use of BSHXHZF and anti-copper therapies can significantly improve the dystonia in Wilson’s disease patients with deficiency of liver and kidney and binding of phlegm and stasis, which can provide reference for the treatment of dystonia in patients with Wilson’s disease with the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the clinical practice.

摘要:Based on the research of various versions of Yixue Gangmu (Compendium of Medicine), this study further investigates the origin of the TCM classic, and makes clear the three major systems of the existing versions, namely, the 39-volume Ming Dynasty’s Handwritten Copy, the 45-volume Jianyang Block-printed Version and the 40-volume Cao Zhuo Block-printed Version. Their master copies and reproduced copies examined, and their strengths and weaknesses identified. Based on the result, it is suggested that the collation of Yixue Gangmu should be based on Ming Dynasty’s Handwritten Copy and Jianyang Block-printed Version, and, when it comes to ambiguities, the collator should choose the correct one after comparing the two copies. The Cao Zhuo Block-printed Version, which is revised and corrected to a greater extent, can only be used in conjunction with other reference materials, and its early version should be used.

摘要:Quan Guo Ming Yi Yan An Lei Bian (Case Reports of Effective Treatment by Nationwide Renowned Physicians Arranged by Category), compiled by He Lianchen, a famous doctor of the Qing Dynasty, is a masterpiece for the treatment of acute externally-contracted febrile diseases in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is known for the tremendous amount of valuable medical records it contains, which are arranged in well-defined categories, and the carefully written comments beside each of them. The book is therefore of great value for theoretical research and clinical practice. By analyzing the syndrome differentiation and treatment of epidemic diseases in the chapter Ba Da Chuan Ran Bing An (Case Records of Eight Infectious Diseases), this paper summarizes the characteristics of He’s medical theory: He deemed the six pathogenic factors as an important inducement for diseases, and emphasized the combination of externally-contracted febrile diseases with physical differences of individuals, the integration of TCM and Western medicine treatment, and personalized care during recovery. In addition, his ideas were examined in the context of modern medical studies, so as to explore the essence of He’s thinking on the diagnosis and treatment of epidemic diseases, and to discover its guiding role and practical significance in the modern era.

摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the effects of preconditioning with bian-stone patches at acupoints Neiguan (PC 6), Taiyuan (LU 9), and Renying (ST 9) on myocardial injury and oxidative stress in rats with acute hypobaric hypoxia.Methods36 male SD rats were randomly divided into the blank group, model group, patch group and drug group, with 9 rats in each. The blank group and model group were not given any interventions. Bian-stone patches were applied on the rats in the patch group at Taiyuan, Neiguan, and Renying points on both sides of the body and kept in place for 2 hours every day. Rats in the drug group were given 280 mg/kg of Rhodiola Capsule daily. After 14 days of intervention, all groups except the blank group entered the oxygen chamber which simulated the plateau environment at an altitude of 6000 m and stayed there for 24 hours. After they left the chamber, blood samples from the abdominal aorta and myocardial tissues were collected from the rats. The expressions of creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in the serum and myocardium, and also the expressions of malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) in the myocardial tissues were determined by ELISA. The pathological changes of the myocardial tissues were observed and their water content were measured by HE staining.ResultsPathological sections showed that the myocardial tissue cells in the model group were dissolved, broken and intercellular space widened. The pathological changes in the patch and drug groups were milder than those in the model group, and the hypoxic injury was not significant. Compared with the blank group, the myocardial water content in the model group was increased (P < 0.05), the serum levels of CK-MB, cTnI and BNP were elevated (P < 0.05), and the myocardial levels of CK-MB, cTnI, BNP, H2O2, MDA and HIF-1α were raised (P < 0.05). The myocardial level of MDA in the patch group decreased (P < 0.05). Compared with model group, the myocardial water content in the patch group was increased (P < 0.05), serum levels of CK-MB, cTnI and BNP were lowered (P < 0.05), and the myocardial levels of CK-MB, cTnI, BNP, H2O2, MDA and HIF-1α were reduced (P < 0.05). The levels of serum CK-MB and cTnI in drug group decreased (P < 0.05), the levels of myocardial CK-MB, cTnI, BNP, H2O2 and MDA were reduced (P < 0.05), and the levels of myocardial water content, serum BNP and HIF-1α were decreased. Compared with drug group, the myocardial level of BNP in the patch group was lowered (P < 0.05).ConclusionPreconditioning with bian-stone patches at acupoints Neiguan, Taiyuan and Renying can improve the myocardial hypoxia of model rats, reduce the degree of oxidative stress, and alleviate the myocardial injury induced by hypobaric hypoxia, providing a new treatment idea and prevention measures for acute high altitude heart disease.

摘要:Primary membranous nephropathy (PMN) is the main cause of adult nephrotic syndrome, with edema as the first manifestation. Abdominal distension, loose stool and other symptoms can be observed in the early and prolonged stages of the disease. Based on clinical experience, it was found that the deficiency of taiyin may exist in some patients, so that external wind evil may easily attack the exterior shaoyin and further damage the three yin. Therefore, edema occurs in exterior shaoyin. A single pathogenesis is in play at the early stage, yet it is still easy for pathogens to enter the inside. If the evil is confined to taiyin with qi and blood repressed, the pathogenesis will be complex in the middle and late stages of the disease. Resulting in a series of complications. Then, shaoyin can be damaged again, causing relapses. The evil may even further spread to jueyin, leading to the end stage of nephropathy. According to the syndrome differentiation of the six meridians and eight principles, this disease belongs to the combination of shaoyin and taiyin. Based on the theory of "opening, closing, and pivoting" of the three yin, the pathogenesis of PMN should be studied with taiyin as the base, shaoyin as the beginning and jueyin as the transmission. The idea of treating the kidney by treating the lung and spleen is guided by the concept of "deficiency of taiyin" . The main principle is to expel evil and warm the interior. In clinical pracice, Ganjiang Lingzhu Decoction is used to treat the deficiency and cold syndrome of taiyin in PMN, which is adjusted based on symptoms and the desirable efficacy can be achieved.

摘要:The Morning-and-Evening Supplementing Method, created by Xue Ji, a physician of the Ming Dynasty, is an approach of treating diseases by taking different medications, which serves to supplement the spleen or the kidney, in the morning and evening. Ye Tianshi inherited and evolved this method into a way of treatment with his own characteristics. This paper selects 57 medical records representing Ye’s version of the Morning-and-Evening Supplementing Method from his Lin Zheng Zhi Nan Yi An (Case Records as a Guide to Clinical Practice) to investigate his contributions to the development of this theory. It was found that, building on what Xue had proposed, Ye further put forward four new ideas: 1. supplementing the kidney and raising yang in tune with the time of day; 2. separate treatment of the stomach and kidney, not limited to taiyin; 3. supplementing yin fluids against the time of day; 4. nourishing and moistening for inability to receive of the spleen and stomach due to withered yin. In a nutshell, Ye’s innovation is mainly reflected in the fact that the time for taking medications was no longer limited to the morning and evening, and also in the multiple treatment method he added building on the warming and tonifying method Xue advocated.

摘要:Chronic heart failure is a disease in which the heart is the main focus and multiple internal organs are dysfunctional. Patients with chronic heart failure often suffer from cognitive dysfunction, the cause of which is still unclear. The theory of coordination between heart and kidney in traditional Chinese medicine provides a theoretical basis for explaining the occurrence of cognitive dysfunction caused by chronic heart failure. The heart spirit and kidney spirit are the main components of cognitive function. When the heart and kidney work in coordination, the spirit is clear and the will is calm. Deficiency of heart qi and disfunction of kidney for activating qi may lead to the inability of the heart fire to warm the kidney water, and that of the kidney water to aid the heart fire, resulting in the incoordination between the two organs, then forgetfulness, slowness, and other abnormalities of the mind will occur, thus causing cognitive dysfunction. The purpose of this paper is to explore the possible pathomechanisms of cognitive dysfunction in patients with chronic heart failure through the theory of coordination between heart and kidney and to provide ideas and method for the treatment of cognitive dysfunction caused by chronic heart failure.

摘要:Patients after thyroid cancer surgeries need long-term thyroid hormone replacement therapy, which can prevent tumor recurrence and metastasis by inhibiting the secretion of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). However, excessive use of thyroid hormone will lead to subclinical hyperthyroidism, and related clinical manifestations such as palpitation, sweating, insomnia and pain in waist and back joints. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that "moderate fire generates qi" and "hyperactive fire consumes qi" , which are closely related to the occurrence of symptoms related to osteoporosis after thyroid cancer surgeries. Therefore, this paper discusses the mechanism of osteoporosis after thyroid cancer surgeries based on the theories of "moderate fire" and "hyperactive fire" proposed in Huangdi Neijing.

摘要:Tumor patients often experience physical weakness and decreased physiological function after high-intensity treatment such as surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Therefore, they often take medications, rest, or passive exercise for rehabilitation. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) believes that "well-guided movement and rests are beneficial to prolonging life-span" , and it is equally important not to blindly adopt the rest-cure method in the recovery process of tumor patients. In the first chapter Shoushi Chuanzhen (Passing Down Truths about Prolonging Life), a TCM classic on health preservation and recovery, it is emphasized that "external skills are suitable for health preservation" , and that "the mind should be valued rather than strength" , emphasizing the harmony of body and mind, and conformity to nature. These primarily involve moderate aerobic exercises and exercise with low physical fitness requirements, thus suitable for cancer patients in the recovery period. The most representative TCM exercise therapies, such as Tai chi, Baduanjin and Wuqinxi, have been proven to effectively relieve fatigue in tumor patients, improve the cardiopulmonary function, reduce negative emotions, and improve the quality of life. It is worth further attention and promotion in clinical practice.

摘要:Pruritus (itching) of the skin is a common symptom that troubles elderly individuals. Due to the discomfort it causes, it has a significant impact on their physical and mental well-being. Professor Zhao Bingnan, founder of the Yenching Zhao School of Dermatology, built on the principle that "addressing dampness is crucial for treating half of all skin diseases, " and achieved desirable clinical result in the treatment of acute, chronic, and persistent pruritus in elderly patients using the theory of dampness. This article presents the experience of treating senile pruritus inherited from the Yenching Zhao School of Dermatology and also shares a case study with fellow practitioners.

摘要:Tic disorder is a neuropsychiatric disease, which is mainly characterized by motor and/or vocal tics. In addition to tic symptoms, most patients have negative emotion or psychological and behavioral problems. As the theory of "the unity of body and spirit" suggests, tic disorders belong to the category of psychosomatic comorbidities, the typical clinical characteristics of which are mental and physical restlessness. Emotional discomfort and failure of the spirit to maintain control of the body is an essential factor in the pathogenesis. Therefore, the treatment should give consideration to both the body and spirit, especially healing the spirit. "Ghost points" are the key points for the treatment of the spirit, and they also have the effect of regulating the body. Therefore, these points can be used to treat tic disorders. In terms of tic disorders, acupuncture at the ghost points can harmonize yin and yang, regulating emotions, and also promote qi and blood circulation, treat the body by relaxing sinew and extinguishing wind, which can calm the spirit and body, and prevent and control tic symptoms. By elaborating on the mechanism and clinical application of the ghost points in tic disorders, this article helps to provide a new perspective for acupoint combination for tic disorders.

摘要:Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common neuroendocrine metabolic disorder in women of childbearing age. A growing body of research has shown a strong link between intestinal flora and PCOS. Dysbiosis is involved in the development of PCOS and affects the endocrine, inflammatory and energy metabolism of the body, and regulating the intestinal flora can effectively improve the symptoms of PCOS. The scientific connotation of "the spleen and stomach" in TCM theories includes the intestinal flora, and the concept that "the spleen is responsible for transport and transformation" essentially involves the intestinal flora and its interlocking influence. TCM believes that the key pathogenesis of PCOS is spleen deficiency, and the result ant accumulation of phlegm and dampness, and the focus of treatment should be placed on strengthening the spleen and stomach, aid generation and transformation, promote the movement qi and blood, and resolve phlegm and dampness, which coincides with the mechanism of regulating the intestinal flora. Therefore, based on the principle of "the spleen governs transportation and transformation" , this article analyses the relevance of the intestinal-ovarian axis to PCOS, aiming to reveal the importance of the intestinal-ovarian axis and the theory of "generation and transformation" in the diagnosis and management of PCOS.

摘要:Endometrial cancer is a prevalent type of malignant tumor in the female reproductive system. Our team, building upon the theory of Cancer and Toxin, proposed by Professor Zhou Zhongying, laureate of the title National TCM Master, and the academic concept of " syndrome differentiation based on pathogenesis" , has developed the theory of Cancer Toxin Pathogenesis , and established a system for clinical differentiation and treatment of endometrial cancer. The core pathogenesis of the disease involves damp-heat and blood stasis, as well as yin deficiency of the liver and kidney. The treatment approach should focus on combating cancer and resolving toxin, as well as regulating and supplementing the liver and kidney. Additionally, clearing heat and dampness, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis are also important considerations for staged and pattern-based treatment. By incorporating the theory of Cancer Toxin, the differentiation and treatment system of endometrial cancer provides new insights for the prevention and treatment of this condition using traditional Chinese medicine. Furthermore, it lays the foundation for in-depth development of the Cancer Toxin Pathogenesis theory in the field of malignant tumors.

摘要:Andropause syndrome is one of the more common diseases in the field of andrology, and there is no related name for this disease recorded in traditional medicine. Based on his decades of clinical experience, Professor Li Yueqing believes that andropause syndrome should be treated in terms of deficiency, constraint and stasis. Deficiency is the basic pathogenesis and pathological trend, which can be divided into kidney-qi deficiency, kidney-yang deficiency, kidney-yin deficiency, and deficiency of qi and blood. Constraint is the key pathogenesis, which is manifested as liver constraint. Stasis is the pathological product, which can be divided into stasis caused by qi deficiency, stasis caused by kidney deficiency and stasis caused by liver constraint. Deficiency, constraintand stasis affect each other, and often combine with each other to cause diseases. Clinical treatment of andropause syndrome from deficiency, constraint and stasis has achieved remarkable result .

摘要:Colorectal cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the digestive tract, with high incidence and mortality rate in China, and the trend of colorectal cancer becoming more prevalent among younger individuals is increasingly evident. Professor Jia Yingjie, laureate of the title "National Prestigious TCM Doctor" , put forward based on decades of clinical experience and existing theories a new idea on the pathogenesis of "cancer turbidity" , and created a new rule of "dethroning turbidity and banking up the foundation" to treat cancer. He believed that when cancer occurs, turbidity should be the primary cause, which is yin in nature and therefore tends to descend, leading to the fact that patterns involving the middle and lower jiao are most common. Dampness turbidity pouring downwards and the result ant accumulation of toxin and blood stasis are key to the disease. The treatment should follow the principle of "banking up the middle jiao and dethroning the lower jiao" , adhere to banking up the foundation, reinforce healthy qi by fortifying the spleen, regulating qi, and activating the middle jiao. Turbidity should be dethroned in multiple ways, so as to eliminate evil. Modified versions of ancient prescriptions can used and the treatment should be adjusted flexibly. This has been proved to be effective in clinical practice. Differentiation of diseases and syndromes complement each other, so do syndrome differentiation based on zang-fu organs and the three jiao. Under the guidance of holistic treatment and careful selection of herbs, desirable clinical result have been achieved, which is demonstrated in this article, evidenced by one case record.

摘要:When treating traditional Chinese medicine surgical diseases, Professor Lyu Peiwen often uses unique drug pairs for specific diseases, syndromes, symptoms, signs, and even laboratory abnormalities, often achieving excellent clinical results. This article summarizes some commonly used drug pairs in the clinical practice of Professor Lyu Peiwen. In the analysis, it quotes many ancient Chinese medical books and the original words spoken by Professor Lyu Peiwen during his clinical visits and teaching. Through the interpretation of traditional Chinese medicine theory, it explains the functions and indications, compatibility characteristics, clinical thinking, drug symptoms, usage and dosage, use techniques and other experience of 12 pairs of herbal drugs, such as Jixueteng (Caulis Spatholobi)-Shouwuteng (Caulis PolygoniMultiflori). Finally, it provides a provencase of the treatment of a difficult disease (Takayasu arteritis). It further explores and summarizes the clinical thinking system of Professor Lyu Peiwen and even the academic school of Yanjing Traditional ChineseMedicine surgery to understand and treat diseases, and explore its unique experience of medication in clinical practice.

摘要:Based on the etiology and pathogenesis of secondary lymphedema of the extremities, it is believed that the nature of this disease is a combination of " excessas the branch and deficiency as the root" .For those with excess as the branch, injuries caused by metal or external pathogens damage the collateralsand obstruct the circulation of qi and blood, leading to fluidaccumulation when blood circulation is impeded. " Deficiency as the root" refers to the prolonged presence of dampness, stagnated blood, and chronic illness damaging the body′s righteous qi. Acupuncture and moxibustion have the functions of promoting collateralcirculation, expelling pathogenic factors, and supporting the righteous qi. The principle of " treating where it hurts" is an important guiding theory and technique for acupuncture in clinical practice.Localized acupuncture therapy for secondary lymphedema of the extremities corresponds to the pathogenesis of both " excess as the branch" and " deficiency as the root" . The disease primarily manifests locally.Where pain occurs, pathogenic factors reside, and gather. Therefore, the qi in these areas is deficient. Treating secondary lymphedema with local needling therapy focuses on the affected area, unblockingcollaterals. Unlike the mode of action of orally administered herbal medicine, localized needling therapy can directly target the lesion, exerting a more direct effect of " promoting collateralcirculation, expelling pathogenic factors, and supporting righteous qi" , thus achieving the therapeutic goal.
