Objective To observe the curative effect of the therapy of resolving phlegm and relaxing bowels on the disturbance of consciousness in patients with stroke involving zang-fu.Method The autogenic antero-posterior control method was used to analyze the relationship between consciousness and fu-qi on the base of treatment with the therapy of resolving phlegm and relaxing bowels combined with Chinese and Western therapies.The changes of fire-heat-phlegm syndrome and influence of the time of consciousness disturbance on patients with stoke involving zang-fu were compared.Result Relaxed fu-qi relieved consciousness disturbance and alleviated fire-heat-phlegm syndrome

and the time of consciousness disturbance was shortened after the application of the therapy of resolving phlegm and relaxing bowels.Conclusion The therapy of resolving phlegm and relaxing bowels can promote the recovery of the consciousness in patients with stroke.
