Objective To observe the curative effect of the retention enema therapy of Chinese herbal drugs on chronic pelvic inflammation.Method The patients with chronic pelvic inflammation（n=182）were randomly divided into two groups.After anti-inflammation treatment intravenously for one week the treatment group（n=91）was treated with the retention enema therapy of Chinese herbal drugs and the control group（n=91）were treated with oral antibiotics.Result The total effective rate was 79.12%in the treatment group and 26.37%in the control group.There was a great significant difference in the comparison between two groups （P<0.01）.Conclusion The retention enema therapy of Chinese herbal drugs has a reliable effect on chronic pelvic inflammation.
