Objective To study the relationship between TCM syndromes and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP).Method The patients with stroke(n=48)were divided into groups according to the level of Hs-CRP
TCM syndromes
onset time and carotid plaque status
and the relevant data were analyzed
dealt with and compared.Result There was significant difference in Hs-CRP
wind syndrome
fire-heat syndrome and phlegm syndrome
and there was difference in qi-deficiency syndrome between stroke in acute stage and in convalescence. There was difference in NIHSS of stoke in acute stage and blood-stasis syndrome of stroke in convalescence respectively between the normal group(with normal Hs-CRP)and abnormal group(with abnormal Hs-CRP).There was difference in Hs-CRP of yin-deficiency syndrome of stroke in acute stage and phlegm syndrome of stroke in convalescence between the normal group and abnormal group.Hs-CRP was correlated significantly to phlegm syndrome of stroke in convalescence. There was a statistical correlation between NIHSS and Hs-CRP of stroke in acute stage or convalescence. There was a statistical correlation between Hs-CRP of stroke in acute stage and yin-deficiency syndrome of stroke in convalescence or NIHSS.The influences of the formation of carotid plaques on Hs-CRP were different. Conclusion In the abnormal group of stroke in convalescence the blood-stasis syndrome is more serious than that in the normal group.Hs-CRP is higher in patients with yin-deficiency syndrome of stroke in acute stage or phlegm syndrome of stroke in convalescence than that in patients without definite diagnosis.Hs-CRP of stroke in convalescence is correlated significantly to phlegm syndrome. The yin-deficiency syndrome of stroke in convalescence and neurological deficits were more serious in the patients with a higher Hs-CRP of stroke in acute stage.
