Objective To observe the curative effect of Dinggui Powder dressing in umbilici combined with Qianlie’an Suppository plugging in anus on the syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis of type Ⅲ prostatitis. Methods The patients with the syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis of type Ⅲ prostatitis （n=144） were randomly divided into the combining group

Dinggui Powder dressing in umbilici and Qianlie’an Suppository plugging in anus. The treatment course was 4 weeks. The curative effect was reviewed by using the tables of NIH-CPSI and TCM syndrome scores. Results The TCM syndrome scores decreased in three groups （P<0.05）

but in the combining group the scores and curative effect were superior to those in the other two groups （P<0.05）. Conclusion The therapy of Dinggui Powder dressing in umbilici combined with Qianlie’an Suppository plugging in anus has a better curative effect on the syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis of type Ⅲ prostatitis than only umbilical therapy or suppository.
