Objective To investigate the clinical effect of warming acupuncture as an adjuvant therapy for bladder spasms after transurethral resection of the prostalt.Methods Eighty patients undergoing transurethral resection of prostate were randomly assigned to the treatment group and control group

with 40 cases in each group.Patients in both groups had traditional stepwise resection.The control group was treated with Toterodine tablets after operation.The observation group received additional warming acupuncture.The number of bladder spasms

the duration of spasms and the time of flushing fluid were significantly shorter and the VAS score was significantly lower in the treatment group than in the control group(P<0.05).The time of extubation was shorter in the treatment group than in the control group

and the incidence of urinary retention and incontinence after extubation was lower in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05).The PPBC and OABSS after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment in both groups(P<0.05)

and the before-after treatment differences in PPBC and OABSS were significantly lower in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions Warming acupuncture as an adjuvant therapy in the treatment of bladder spasms with toterodine after transurethral resection of the prostalt has a good clinical effect.
