Interviewing is a kind of qualitative method to collect data by conversations following some regulations

with an increasing number of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) studies applying this method year by year.The main topics of TCM interviewing studies currently include clinical practice experience and methods

perspectives

experience and willingness of the patients to receive TCM treatment

application and education of TCM

and the development of TCM scales.Considering the characteristics of TCM wholism and syndrome differentiation and treatment

it is very adaptive to use interviewing in TCM research so as to add and explore more information.It would be possible to make a comprehensive exploration in the following aspects by quantitative research and interviewing

such as the data mining of the experience from famous old experts

construction of disease syndrome evolution and outcome indexes

construction of diagnosis and treatment model based on syndrome differentiation

elements research on TCM efficacy evaluation

solving the barriers in TCM scientific research

quality assessment in the different stages of TCM scientific research
