Objective To analyze the columns of Modern Chinese Clinical Medicine

and determine the key and characteristic columns

especially the academic vitality of the key columns and their contribution to the influence of the journal.Methods With the articles published in each column of Modern Chinese Clinical Medicine from 2014 to 2018 as the research object

and CNKI as the data source

bibliometrics was used to conduct statistical analysis of the composition ratio

average download frequency

and citation frequency of each column.Results The top 5 column contribution values from 2014 to 2018 were:“special research”

“review”

“clinical research”

“famous doctor inheritance” and “ideas and methods”.The top 5 citations per article were:“expert consensus” (14.00 times)

“special research” (9.68 times)

“review” (8.84 times)

“expert experience” (8.67 times) and “clinical observation”(7.46 times).The top 5 articles with average download times were:“expert consensus” (460.00 times)

“evidence-based medicine” (410.27 times)

“reviews” (406.42 times)

“narrative medicine”(372.56 times) and “master of traditional Chinese medicine” (333.50 times).The 3 columns with the lowest citations per article were:“case report” (0.7 times)

“Chinese medicine clinical education”(1.00 times) and “master forum” (1.00 times).Conclusions Mand The columns of this journal need to be further streamlined

with the goal of creating a “premium journal”;the key columns are “special research”
