Objective

To explore and analyze Professor Li Yueqing’s medication rules for the treatment of impotence

and to provide clinical ideas for the management of this disease.

Methods

Prof. Li’s prescriptions for the treatment of impotence were collected

and the complex system entropy clustering and other data mining methods were used to determine the frequency of the herbs in the prescriptions and the association rules so as to summarize Prof. Li’s experience with the treatment of impotence.

Results

A total of 193 selected prescriptions were analyzed

and the high-frequency TCM patterns were successively kidney deficiency and liver stagnation pattern

pattern of blood stasis blocking collaterals

pattern of liver qi stagnation

pattern of fire failure of life gate

dampness-heat down-pouring pattern

fright and fear-induced kidney injury pattern

deficiency of the heart and spleen

etc. The top 6 traditional Chinese medicinals that are frequently used were Achyranthes bidentata

Radix paeoniae alba

Radix Bupleuri

Fructus schizandrae and Epimedium. The most attributive meridians were the Liver Meridian and Kidney Meridian. Based on association rules

15 groups of high-frequency herb combinations were revealed

for instance

"Radix achyrandii and Radix paeoniae alba"

"Radix Paeoniae alba and Radix Bupleuri" and 10 herb combinations

including pachyrhizus

Fructus lycii

Radix achyrandii

and Radix Achyrandii were excavated. Based on unsupervised entropy hierarchical clustering analysis

12 candidate new prescriptions were mined.

Prof. Li has rich experience in the treatment of impotence and his treatment is centered on promoting blood circulation and invigorating yang

soothing the liver and tonifying the kidney and modification is made to the prescription according to the patient’s condition.
