Objective

To analyze the effects of Thunder-fire moxibustion combined with Xiaojianzhong Decoction on pediatric abdominal pain.

Methods

One hundred and twenty children with abdominal pain were randomly assigned to the control group and treatment group. The control group was treated with Xiaojianzhong Decoction for 14 days

while the treatment group received Chinese decoction combined with Thunder-fire moxibustion for 14 days.Both groups were followed-up for 3 months for clinical efficacy.

The total effective rate was higher(94%)in the treatment group than in the control group(83.3%)

and there were significant differences between these groups (

the overall symptoms. especially the abdominal pain were significantly alleviated in the treatment group than in the control group (

0.01). Both the longitudinal diameter (L) and the transverse diameter (S) of the biggest mesenteric lymph nodes in the treatment group decreased (

0.01). There were significant differences between the two groups in L and S (

Thunder-fire moxibustion combined with the traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of pediatric abdominal pain has remarkable effectsin clinical practice.
