Objective

To investigate the clinical efficacy of Jin’s Three-Needle combined with Bailemian Capsule in the treatment of perimenopausal insomnia of the liver depression and yin deficiency type.

Methods

From June 2018 to May 2020

80 cases of perimenopausal insomnia with the type of liver depression and yin deficiency were randomly assigned to the treatment group and control group

with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Bailemian Capsule

while the treatment group received additional treatment of Jin’s Three-Needle. Both groups were treated for 6 weeks.The clinical efficacy was evaluated 3 weeks and 6 weeks after treatment. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scores before treatment

3 weeks after treatment and 6 weeks after treatment were observed to evaluate the sleep quality of the patients.

The total effective rates of the treatment group at 3 weeks and 6 weeks after treatment

which were 72.50% and 92.50%

were significantly higher than those of the control group

which were 57.50% and 82.50%

and the difference was statistically significant (

0.05). At 3 weeks and 6 weeks after treatment

the scores and total scores of PSQI in the two groups were lower than those before treatment

and the scores and total scores of PSQI in the treatment group at 3 weeks and 6 weeks after treatment were significantly lower than those in the control group (all

0.05). During the treatment

there were no obvious adverse reactions

no abnormal blood

urine

stool routine tests and abnormal liver and kidney functions in both groups

with good safety.

Jin’s Three-Needle combined with Bailemian Capsule in the treatment of perimenopausal insomnia of liver depression and yin deficiency can significantly improve the clinical efficacy

shorten the course of treatment

improve patient satisfaction and compliance

and it has good safety.
