Four kinds of doctor-patient divergences have been put forward in narrative medicine
namely
recognition of death and of etiology
the context of disease and negative emotions such as shame
blame and fear. However
from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)
the doctor-patient divergences
influenced by Chinese culture
shows its own characteristics. This study was aimed at investigating the influencing factors on the doctor-patient divergences with Chinese characteristics
in the following aspects: the homology of traditional Chinese culture between doctors and patients
humanity in diagnosis and treatment of TCM
psychosomatic and spatiotemporal characteristics of the TCM model
the extension of TCM view about life and death from the perspective of traditional Chinese culture
in order to shed light on the hidden advantages of TCM in bridging doctor-patient divergences
and providing reference for clinical practice.
